Jeanne Robinson

Jeanne Robinson’s paintings are big, bright, colourful and bold, capturing the essence and beauty of the many landscapes of her travels.  Her art is heavily influenced by an emotional connection to the natural world which began in the rugged boreal forests and pristine lakes of northern Manitoba where she grew up.

“As I paint, I try to recall and enhance an emotional experience I have had in nature, and express it to others in my paintings. Colour and texture are the primary means of conveying this experience and I use both with considerable abandonment.

I love to experiment with the paint, pushing it around on the canvas until I see something I like. I try to be brave, and always challenge myself with every new painting, trying something I’ve never done before.”

Jeanne’s colourful, heavily textured landscape paintings are primarily in oil with palette knife and brush. Her love of beauty and nature also finds expression in her home and garden, both of which reflect the same colourful, creative spirit found in her art.

She began painting around ten years ago after retiring from a long and fulfilling career in law – proof that it is never too late to follow your passion.
